Komboa Vulnerable Groups Association – Volunteer Tanzania

Komboa is a nonprofit organization that is trying to empower marginalized and vulnerable communities through education and training, in the Iringa District of Tanzania.

Among other things they provide help for people that wasn’t able to study, support teenage moms or widows by showing the how to get an income, seeking funds and donations and provide counseling for people who suffer from chronic diseases.

How the Volunteering Program Works – Volunteer Tanzania:

  • Volunteers are always welcome, year round.
  • To be accepted in their volunteer program you need to have the disposition to stay with them for at least 3 months.
  • When you contact the organization they ask a series of questions to figure out your interests and to create a plan for your work.
  • You don’t need to have a special skill or experience to volunteer with them, other than English skills.
  • Volunteers work 5 days a week.
  • They recommend contacting them at least 1 – 2 months prior to visiting the country. This way they get enough time for figuring out your accommodations.

  • Administrative tasks
  • Education Program
  • Training and Capacity Building
  • Peace Building Program
  • Governance and Protection Program
  • Sports and Games Program
  • Visiting, Counseling and Aid Program
